Red October or pre-7th of November
Last weekend we celebrated the Red October, nicely having mixed this with our Birthdays:)
Why Red October and how it is related with the 7th of November?
Well... the fact is that the last and most famous Russian (the one that lead to USSR) Revolution happened on 25-26th of October, that is 7th according to the new calendar:)

Why & how we celebrated... )
This is what I was telling about:
    Russian Revolution 1917
Don't agree? Suggest your version that could be told in 5 minutes to people who are not aware of the story apart from knowing words Revolution and Lenin (the latter one is a name indeed:) )

And to add some taste of history we printed some Soviet posters, e.g.:Visualising the Soviets )
    Thus, For the Red October!

Let the Light be! Or Happy Diwali!
There is a lot of festivals and auspicious events in India. It's easier to count the days when there is no festival:)
However there are some really great and the biggest celebrations. Today is one of such Big Days.

26 October 2011 for Hindu, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists is a Festival of Lights - Diwali.
This is a celebration of triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness.

Lakshmi (Goddess of wealth) and Ganesh (elephant God of auspicious beginnings, or other words, of wealth and prosperity) are worshiped today.

Fireworks, Candles, Lights are everywhere (actually the translation of the festival is "Raw of Lamps)
The celebrants share sweets, they also signify this day with wearing new clothes..
They pray for all good, sing and dance for Lakshmi:

For most business communities in India this day is also a New Year day - Next day they start new account books.
For many farmer communities this festival is related with harvest and they thank for the harvest of the year and pray for next year.

I want to use this opportunity to wish you all
    - Happy peaceful and prosperous life!
    - Let your life be full of Light!
    - Enjoy your life!

    time for a Lady Sceleton
October is a time when your soul finally understands that summer is gone and those wonderful blue sky days are tricky. They just give you an opportunity to collect more memories on sun so to prepare to dark times.
October is a time for me when I rethink my relations with the outside world, my attitude towards myself and others... Because Birthday is that a strange moment when you understand how bias is your stand.
This is a time when your feeling of being lonely and alone is the most loud, it just screams "I'm alone in this world!". And then instead of finding the way or enjoy the loneliness your soul cries out " Please just let me be alone". This scream is so loud that you turn off your mobiles, internet, all the connection with the outside world. Because in fact it's such a treasure to be really alone, one in one to yourself and to learn again how to read the world and to accept the messages.
    - On one hand if you are a good girl/ good boy, have active social life you'll have lots of congratulations and warm wishes. That will say to you: You are important creature in this world. Somebody loves you, values you, thinks about you and has good wishes for you.
    - On the other hand this is a time when you understand what kind of seeds you have on your desk: green, mature, wet... There will be your closest people and those who want to feel good about themselves, those who think about you, maybe, just a little, but they are honest in their words...
October is a time when you can go for a run with wolves and split the seeds...

When you might to manage to invite the Lady Sceleton to share the cake and have a cup of tea with you.
And maybe this time you'll be able to talk to her.

    About Music, Dance and National...
I was in mood to listen to and to watch Lezginka - flameful energetic exciting national dance of different folks of Caucasus. In fact, initially I didn't really care if it were Lezginka or any other kind of dance - I am anyway not well aware of national music, culture etc.. I just wanted to listen to see this "ballet of mountains", dance with sables, something like this:
    Lezkinka

Men are from Mars, Women - from Venus. The Dictionary
Found in Social networks and translated into English, although will be not surprised it was translated into Russian from English:)
I think men and women should know about some specifics each others and their own psychology and language! This would help us to live happily and not to waste our time for useless fights and thoughts..
Well, Here are the 9 most dangerous words, said by women:
    1. Well, Wonderful!
This is used by women usually at the very end of fight, when they are right and you should shut up.
    2. It's quickly. Just 5 minutes.
This expression can have 2 meanings: If a woman said it before preparing to leave the house, "5 minutes" equals half an hour. But if you are given only 5 minutes to finish watching the 1st play of football before you start helping at home, be sure: this will be exactly 5 minutes!
    3. Nothing happend.
This is silence before storm. This "nothing" apparently means something, hence be aware! Fights that start with "nothing happened" usually finish with "Well, Wonderful" (see point 1 above)
    4. Well-well, continue, please.
It's not a permission, but a challenge! Hence don't continue if you want to be fine.
    5. Loud sound of groan.
This non-verbal statement is often misunderstood by men. Groan means something like this: She thinks you are completely an idiot and she doesn't understand why she even wastes her time to stay here and fight with you about nothing (see point 3)
    6. Everything is fine.
This is one of the most dangerous statements a man ever can hear from a woman. "Everything is fine" means that she takes a break to think out when and how you will pay for your mistake.
    7. Thank you!
If a woman said "Thank you!", don't ask her what for. Just say to her: You are welcome! However there is a tiny point: if instead of just "!Thank you!" you hear "Thank you very much!" (stress on Very much), you should immediately notice sarcasm in her voice. After this never say to her "You are welcome!" Otherwise it will be finished with "Nevermind" (see further)
    8. Nevermind
It's a very delicate way of women to send a man in the middle of nowhere.
    9. Don't worry, I'll do it myself.
It's another warning statement, that is usually said at the moment when a woman has already several times asked a man to do something (to throw garbage, to collect his socks laying all around the house, to change a bulb etc) and has found out that he even hasn't moved from his sofa, so she has started doing everything herself. Later on this situation will lead to a stupid question of a man "What's wrong?" and a woman's answer under number 3.

Will highly appreciate more hints on men and women' language:)

    Good luck and love!

the 1st visit of parents in law
interesting, when I tell about the visit any Europeans/ Americans, Russians, they wish me Good luck.
Indians reaction is "Cool, congratulations!".  - kya, what?

I think the main reason is that Europeans etc are more "in" their own, personal, private, distance. We live separately at least since university, and independently since the very childhood.
My relations with my parents are more like with adults to adults (sometimes although I take a parental position, when situation/ environment is not usual for my parents, e.g. visa, Travel..)
It's quite difficult for me to live with my own family, parents more than 1 week. We all are too used to our own routines, and it's quite a challenge to adjust to each other..
Thus, it's kinda ok for me to have something like stress, and my European friends and colleagues understand this.

Indians are more into family, their personality is deeply embedded into family relationship, values...
They are raised in understanding they will be always with their parents, in feeling they are at home with parents only, in relations with family cocoon as a way to identify their personality...
Since very childhood their life is around and within their extended family, extremely social status oriented & well structured society. Namaste and touching the feet - it's in their blood. Society blood.
In fact, to live separately it might appear a challenge for them, as this means they have to know how to deal with being physically alone, how to virtualize the distance, and.. how to handle functions that at home are done by other members of family:) e.g. Girls need to learn how to deal with the outside world, boys - how to cook, clean, wash..
Yes, for them it's a happiness: Big family is together... Because elders are used to be in the center, youngest  - to run around these centers..
and here they have me. Very different:)

Well, this is the situation:) Houston, hello:)

However, as for now seems we manage to handle the differences and enjoy our time together:)
